Ivanka Trump wears Korean designer brand 'GoenJ'

Ivanka Trump, a senior adviser to the White House, visited South Korea with her father, President Donald Trump, last week, and as a senior White House adviser, she carried out major schedules on behalf of the First Lady. Ivanka Trump, a former model, showed off various fashions to match her schedule, and she is particularly drawing attention by wearing clothes by Korean designer 'GOEN.J'.

Senior Advisor Ivanka Trump matched a GOEN.J belted coat dress with a gold brooch and ivory pumps when she attended the 'ROK-US Women's Empowerment Summit' held at the Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel at the invitation of Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha. The dress is a product from the 'GOEN.J 2019 Resort Collection', and while the tailored style emphasizes neatness, the modern ruffle details characteristic of GOEN.J on the sleeves accentuate femininity.

The outfit is especially a hot topic because it is known that it was purchased directly by Ivanka Trump, not through a brand sponsorship. GoenJ’s designer Jeong Go-eun said, “I was surprised to see our outfit on the news. I think she purchased it directly from an overseas retailer where GoenJ’s products are sold.”

First ladies often show respect by wearing clothes by the country's designers when meeting with foreign leaders or on tour. Former US First Lady Michelle Obama showed respect by wearing Alexander McQueen when visiting London and Takada Kenzo when visiting Japan.
