K-Brands, Go Japan! Everything You Need to Know About Entering the Japanese D2C Market at the Seminar (Sketch)

On June 25, 2025, 300CBT participated as an official speaker at the seminar "K-Brands, Go Japan! - Mastering Shopify D2C for Your Japanese Market." A variety of snacks were also prepared for attendees.

It was a meaningful opportunity to share practical implementation strategies and local operational know-how with K-brands considering entering the Japanese market.
We've been talking with brand practitioners on the topic of "D2C operational strategies that actually work in Japan," alongside key partners like Shopify, Datarize, and Sagawa Korea.

The atmosphere I felt as soon as I arrived at the seminar site was one of determination.
Rather than simply gathering information, the entire space was filled with the energy of brands that said, "Now we want to act."
This seminar wasn't just a simple platform explanation; it was a place where partners with practical experience entering the Japanese market based on Shopify shared "what actually worked" in their respective fields.

In this seminar, our company, Sam Baek CBT, presented on "Successful Cases of Entering the Japanese Market and Localization Strategies Built with Shopify."
Over the years, we've designed and built over 300 brand Shopify stores targeting global markets like the US and Japan, and shared the following key strategies:

  • The Importance of Japanese, Yen, and Local Payment Settings
  • Know-how in notation of specific commercial transactions laws, PG review, and customer inquiry channel operation
  • Success stories and key growth indicators by category, including beauty and fashion.
  • Data shows that independent publishers in Japan can increase brand loyalty and secure margins up to 30% higher than marketplaces.

Many brand practitioners nodded and responded, "This is exactly what we're thinking about right now," and during the Q&A session following the presentation, specific technical/structural questions continued to be asked.

In addition to Sam Baek CBT, presentations from various partner companies followed.

  • Shopify - Introducing the Core Platform for Global E-Commerce
  • Datarize - Introducing Data-Driven CRM and Japanese Market Strategy
  • Sagawa Korea - Introduction to logistics and customs clearance
  • TikTok: Introducing Japanese Marketing Accelerated by Creatives

What was impressive was how all these presentations were connected.
With Shopify + content + logistics + CRM all presented as a single flow, it was an opportunity to look at entering the Japanese market from a brand management perspective, rather than simply building an online shopping mall.

This seminar reaffirmed this point: entering the Japanese market is no longer a question of "Can we do it?" but rather "How will we execute it?"
Maintaining the brand's identity while redesigning it in a structure that local consumers find familiar. Shopify designs and implements this process, and our partner, SamBaekCBT, is co-designing the structure.

Sambak CBT has extensive experience building Shopify D2C platforms specifically for the Japanese market, supporting global architecture design that takes into account local consumers, local payment/delivery environments, and even integration with Japanese platforms.
Entering Japan, from design to execution - Sam Baek CBT is with you.
